Amazing. Of all the years in different countries I have hired vehicles, I have never experienced such amazing customer service, excellent vehicle and the loveliest of people to deal with.
They invited me into a whatsapp group to communicate, picked me up from my accommodation in Reykjavik and dropped me off there after the vehicle hire. Also receiving a discount for many tours/activities in Iceland which i did use and saved a fortune.
Amazing company, the best hire company I have ever used and I highly recommend using them when in Iceland. Next level service from start to finish. And an excellent safe vehicle which was really economic to use.

This is the second time I've rented a car from Viking Wheels.
Once again, everything was incredibly hassle-free; I was even informed about a repeat customer discount I'd overlooked. Thank you for that! Ívar and Rey's personal service was perfect; the car was delivered to my accommodation and picked up from there again at the end of the trip. Free Wi-Fi on board was very helpful. They also informed me about a storm warning in the south during my trip. Unfortunately, this time I had minor damage to my windshield and was worried despite having insurance, but Ívar was very relaxed during the handover. For me, Viking Wheels is the best car rental I've ever had in Iceland, and I can recommend them without reservation.

I can't say enough good things about this car rental experience with Viking Wheels and brothers Ivar and Rey. They were both so nice and helpful and professional. They will come and pick you up and bring you to the car and bring you home after return, take no deposit, or, in some cases, even bring the car to you. I dealt mostly with Ivar who patiently explained the new little Toyota I rented, loaned me a cable to charge my phone in the car, and the car comes with a mobile Wi-Fi. They were not pushy about insurance but wanted me to be covered for peace of mind, accepting my insurance through my credit card. Both were always available and almost instantly responsive, whether email, phone, text, or WhatsApp. Super smooth start to finish. Two young entrepreneurs who are going to be a big success. I recommend them highly!

We recently rented a car in Iceland, and the service was fantastic! The rental company provided incredible advice on destinations, road safety, and signage. Available during the whole rental period, and continued to give tips if we asked. Sent information about a ferry when we couldn’t find information in english. Fast answers, and very nice service. Unlike many others, they didn't charge extra for handling a parking ticket. The pickup and drop-off service was super convenient and flexible, allowing us to adjust the times. We were in Reykjavik for the day while aboard the Emerald Princess. We rented two vehicles for our family to explore the area around Reykjavik. We had done this in other locations in Iceland as well, but this was by far the best car rental experience we had! They brought the cars to the port for us, and met us as we disembarked from the ship to complete the paperwork. Not only was the process super convenient and efficient, the price was the most economical of all our car rentals in Iceland. The entire rental process went very smoothly. The owner picked us up from our accommodation, drove us to the pickup location, and then back to our accommodation after returning the car. He was very friendly and eager to help with any questions. We were in constant contact with him via WhatsApp. The car was practically new and in excellent condition; we covered a lot of kilometers without any problems in two days. I really appreciated that Reynir and/or Ívar promptly responded to my questions and addressed all of my concerns. Their outstanding customer service led me to choose Viking Wheels. Reynir and Ívar truly went above and beyond, even reaching out to check on us and make sure we knew a weather warning was posted for strong winds, ice, and snow. They assured us we were safe as they had equipped the car, a Dacia Duster, with new all season tires, not just standard summer tires.
We loved that the vehicle was a dieseI so it had great fuel efficiency and it handled all the weather and types of roads we experienced. We loved the zippy SUV. It was clean and well equipped with WiFi providing access everywhere we travelled during our 2 week adventure. Viking Wheels came up as a rental option on Guide to Iceland. I was intrigued by the affordability that includes perks like free Wi-Fi and an extra driver. I couldn't find anything about them on Reddit or Trust Pilot so was a bit concerned about the legitimacy of them considering the nightmares around car rentals in general. I reached out to them on Facebook and, despite the time difference received a rapid response from one of the brothers, Rey. Regarding foreign drivers license: We need the license with Latin Characters as we need to be able to understand the license.

Hi there!
We’re Reynir and Ívar, two brothers from Reykjavík, Iceland, and together we run Viking Wheels Car Rental.
Between us, we’ve spent years working in service, sales, and support. Eventually, we figured it was time to put all that experience into something of our own, and what better way than helping people explore Iceland?
Reynir (or Rey) is the older brother by two years. He currently lives abroad, where he’s made it his mission to convert everyone he meets into Iceland superfans. When he’s not talking about volcanoes and hot springs, he works in customer support for a tech company and brings plenty of service experience from Iceland, Denmark, and Spain.
Ívar has worked in Reykjavík’s restaurants and bars and even enjoyed a stint as a bicycle salesman (a true office comedy dream job). These days, he drives Reykjavík’s cleanest taxi (seriously, you could eat off the floor mats, though he’d probably prefer you didn’t).
So why a car rental? Well, we believe the car you drive is one of the most important parts of enjoying your Iceland journey. We’re dedicated to making sure that part of your holiday is smooth, reliable, and maybe even a little fun.
