The entire rental process went very smoothly. The owner picked us up from our accommodation, drove us to the pickup location, and then back to our accommodation after returning the car. He was very friendly and eager to help with any questions. We were in constant contact with him via WhatsApp. The car was practically new and in excellent condition; we covered a lot of kilometers without any problems in two days. It also had free WiFi, which also worked flawlessly. I highly recommend it!

I really appreciated that Reynir and/or Ívar promptly responded to my questions and addressed all of my concerns. Their outstanding customer service led me to choose Viking Wheels. Reynir and Ívar truly went above and beyond, even reaching out to check on us and make sure we knew a weather warning was posted for strong winds, ice, and snow. They assured us we were safe as they had equipped the car, a Dacia Duster, with new all season tires, not just standard summer tires.
We loved that the vehicle was a dieseI so it had great fuel efficiency and it handled all the weather and types of roads we experienced. We loved the zippy SUV. It was clean and well equipped with WiFi providing access everywhere we travelled during our 2 week adventure. We have nothing but gratitude and praise for this company and their incredible customer service.

I stayed in Iceland for four months, and for every trip I planned, I used this agency. Their service is truly comprehensive and very affordable. After comparing, it was always the cheapest agency with the services offered (Wi-Fi included, second driver at no extra cost, and pickup and drop-off anywhere in Reykjavik). Viking Wheels came up as a rental option on Guide to Iceland. I was intrigued by the affordability that includes perks like free Wi-Fi and an extra driver. I couldn't find anything about them on Reddit or Trust Pilot so was a bit concerned about the legitimacy of them considering the nightmares around car rentals in general. I reached out to them on Facebook and, despite the time difference received a rapid response from one of the brothers, Rey. His use of emojis lets you know pretty much instantly that it is a human and not a bot. 🌸. He was able to assure me about the legitimacy of their rental, and reminded me that the pickup is in Reykjavik, not at the airport, which is 40 minutes away, which was much appreciated! I wanted to share my experience as a Canadian traveler so that others can take the leap of faith and try Viking Wheels out. From a young age, we’ve been working and gathering experience in different fields. Most of our combined experiences come from service, sales, and support jobs.
We thought it was about time we tapped into those experiences and put them to work for us!
With a burning passion for creating our own company, and providing folks with amazing experiences of travel and service we decided to open Viking Wheels Car Rental!
Reynir (Rey) is the older one, by two years. Currently living abroad, he spends his days annoying those around him with endless tales of Iceland; its beauty, and amazing people.
Alongside working on Viking Wheels, Rey works in customer support for a small tech company. He also has years of experience in the service industry in three different countries (Iceland, Denmark, and Spain).
Ívar has also worked in the service industry, in restaurants and bars in Reykjavík. Besides that, he lived Jim Halbert’s dream of being a bicycle salesman for a number of years.
Currently, Ívar drives Reykjavík’s best-kept taxi (seriously, he’s obsessed with keeping a clean car!).
