Viking Wheels came up as a rental option on Guide to Iceland. I was intrigued by the affordability that includes perks like free Wi-Fi and an extra driver. I couldn't find anything about them on Reddit or Trust Pilot so was a bit concerned about the legitimacy of them considering the nightmares around car rentals in general. I reached out to them on Facebook and, despite the time difference received a rapid response from one of the brothers, Rey. His use of emojis lets you know pretty much instantly that it is a human and not a bot. 🌸. He was able to assure me about the legitimacy of their rental, and reminded me that the pickup is in Reykjavik, not at the airport, which is 40 minutes away, which was much appreciated! I wanted to share my experience as a Canadian traveler so that others can take the leap of faith and try Viking Wheels out. You will not be disappointed and you can't support local any better than this!
